Booking process

A booking cannot and never will be confirmed until the deposit is received.



We typically ask for a 30% deposit. All deposits are non-refundable. This is because as soon as we take a deposit we turn other work away. We do not infer or imply that we will return a deposit under any circumstances.


Full payment / Final Adjustments

Final adjustments to playing times must be made at least 28 days prior to the event (and any adjustment to price accordingly). These adjustments should be minor trimming of times only. Full payment must be received 28 days before the event, Cheques are not acceptable on the night.


Late Payment Late payments have caused us many problems recently with extra admin. If payment has to be requested because it is late Milton Keynes Mobile Disco retains the right to charge £15 to cover admin. Please remember that if full payment is not received by the due date Milton Keynes Mobile Disco reserves the right to cancel the contract without refund of any money already received.


Short notice bookings

In the event that we can accommodate a short notice booking (i.e. Less than 28 days) details for payment will be discussed at the time of booking.



When feasible and possible, the client's request for extended playing time during the event will be accommodated. However, payment is due at the time of the request and may be paid in cash only.


Forms of payment

Any payment made 28 days or more before the event can be made by cash or cheque. Please make all cheques payable to “Andy Hollinshead”. A receipt will be issued for all payments, either immediately, or within 7 days. In the event of a payment dispute, you may be asked to produce the receipts. If full payment is not received by the due date Milton Keynes Mobile Disco reserves the right to cancel the contract without refund of any money already received. Under no circumstances should you ever post cash through our letterbox.


Venue / Police / Council intervention

Requirements by the venue management, over-ride the client and Milton Keynes Mobile Disco. i.e. If we are instructed to lower the volume, or to stop playing by the venue management, this will be followed. Most commercial venues have an entertainment licence cut off time, which must always be observed. If the event is interrupted by the police / local council, then we will follow any advice or instructions given by them (including to stop the event). There will be no refunds given under these circumstances for early finishing.


Equipment Damage

If damage is caused to equipment by the client, or any person attending the event, Milton Keynes Mobile Disco reserves the right to charge the client for the full cost of repair / replacement of the equipment.


Your Instructions

We pride ourselves on attention to detail and customer service. We want you to feel like our only customer. However, we request that you or one of your party (such as Best Man) take a moment to re-brief us on the day about your first dance, last record, or any other requirements before the start of your disco. This is because things sometimes change  at short notice and we want to be sure we get everything right for you.


Cancellation by client

Cancellations must be in writing by the client. If the client cancels more than 28 days prior to the event, then only the deposit will be forfeited. If the client cancels the event less than 28 days prior to the event, then the client is responsible for the total fee. If we manage to get another booking for your event date, and you re-book for another date, we will consider transferring some of your payments to the new booking. Any amount will depend on various factors. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are having problems, as we may be able to help.


Cancellation by Milton Keynes Mobile Disco

We pride ourselves on reliability, however, if for some reason we could no longer carry out the event all monies paid will be return any money paid to as quickly as we can. We will endeavour to work with you to find a new DJ (which the client may need to pay direct). Milton Keynes Mobile Disco cannot be liable for any difference in DJ fees and our only liability is to return any money paid by you to ourselves.



Non attendance of event / severe breakdown of equipment / late start by Milton Keynes Mobile Disco

We pride ourselves on being reliable, however, failure can never be ruled out (such as a car crash on the way to the disco, multiple equipment failure during the event etc.). Milton Keynes Mobile Disco will always work their hardest to provide you with your event. If ithe event lasts less than 50% of the agreed playing time or does not take place at all, then we will refund all monies paid. If more than 50% of playing time has been achieved, then a refund will be made on a pro-rata basis. If the start of the event is delayed up to 30mins due to Milton Keynes Mobile Disco, liability is limited to providing the client with additional playing time equal to the delayed start time. All refunds will within 28 days of being notified who to pay. This is the full limit of liability on Milton Keynes Mobile Disco and excludes electrical supply failure which is your responsibility.


Late start by Customer

If Milton Keynes Mobile Disco cannot start by the agreed setup start time, due to the client or the venue not being ready  we set up as quickly as we can and start playing as soon as we can. Under these circumstances Milton Keynes Mobile Disco has no obligation to play later or to refund any money. Any extra playing time past our agreed finished time will be subject to the normal overtime clause above.


Venue provision:

The client will ensure that the venue for the disco,

(1)       Will be within 6 mtrs of a reliable power supply of at least 2 safe and well maintained 13amp sockets (on a full 30amp ring main). If the power supply is less than this, it will reduce the lights and sound level of the disco. If plug sockets are loose, cracked, or considered unsafe by the DJ your disco cannot take place.

(2)    Is open between the setup start and take down finish times, as shown on the booking contract form

(3)     An area of approximately 4 mtrs wide, 2.5mtrs deep and 2.1mtrs high is available for the disco rig. If the space is less than this, it may take us longer to set up, and it may not be possible to provide all of the equipment.

(4)       Takes reasonable steps at all times to protect Milton Keynes Mobile Disco equipment and personnel. If crowd control is required to ensure this, then this has to be provided by the venue / client.

(5)       Provide suitably qualified door staff at events where needed.

(6)       Provides a shelter that completely covers and protects Milton Keynes Mobile Disco equipment from adverse weather conditions when playing outdoors. All equipment is electric and Milton Keynes Mobile Disco retains the right to suspend/terminate without refund if we consider conditions to be unsafe.

(7)       Has a valid PPL (Public Performance Licence) if the event is a commercial, business or public event, and is being held in a commercial venue.

(8)        Your DJ has the final word on safety and can refuse to play or stop playing at anytime and without notice if they consider it unsafe to play. 

(9)       For your safety it is important that you and your guests do not  drink on the dancefloor or place drinks on the floor. Your DJ is unable to monitor this and this is the client and venues responsibility.



We have a huge selection of music which we constantly update and can fill most requests on the night. We require any playlist at least 10 days in advance. We welcome some requests in advance which can be helpful (no more than 10 or 20 tracks is the norm) but advise against long playlists in advance which can sometimes hamper your event. If a large playlist is issued by the client we reserve the right to charge 80 pence per track for those which have to be bought in. We cannot illegally download from the net for free as not only is it unlawful but the quality is usually dreadful. 



The client accepts full responsibility for any damages or injures or delays that occurs as result of failure to comply with these provisions. In the event of circumstances deemed by the DJ to present a real or implied threat of injury or harm (including verbal abuse) to Milton Keynes Mobile Disco staff, equipment, and or any other person, then we reserve the right to terminate the event without refund. Milton Keynes Mobile Disco further reserves the right to deny any person access to equipment and access to the area behind the disco at any time.
